Casey Jo Turner
Raised in Buckfield, educated at the University of Southern Maine, and now living and working in Portland, I am a Mainer through and through. I happily travel the globe, but Maine will always be home base.
I started performing in middle school. Then spent my high school years apprenticing at the Oddfellow Theater in Buckfield under Michael Miclon, Fritz Grobe and Amanda Huotari. Spent summers working and training at the Celebration Barn Theater in South Paris. Received my BA in Theatre from USM and stuck around Portland, finding myself deeply entrenched in and supported by the local community. Spent a few years playing around with trapeze, culminating in a TedX Talk with my partner, Janette Hough Fertig.
Producing came next! Working primarily in tv documentaries, I learned everything by the seat of my pants. Projects can be found on my Produce page and stories are happily shared in person!
Audio is the newest venture, a wonderful combination of acting and producing. Commercial, documentary, books, dramas, industrial and a few other avenues in the works, I’ve been lucky to apply my full skillset to these projects. I couldn’t have done it without my friends, Fred Greenhalgh and the late Bill Dufris.
Looking forward to what comes next!
