FROM THE MORNING TO THE NIGHT - Blacklodge - 2023

Turner, a veteran of Maine-made horror fare like Corey Norman’s “The Hanover House” and “Tickle,” imbues her character Orna’s tortured journey from addiction to seemingly stable sobriety (and possibly back again), a tour de force of things wrenchingly unsaid. Brego’s writing and directing style is blessedly bereft of speechifying, leaving his actors to register a world of pain with drawn, haunted looks and halting words and actions they more often than not wish they could take back. As the drawn and haunted center to nearly every scene, Turner expresses more about addiction, regret, love and loss than any multiplex full of high-minded, award-baiting monologues. She’s outstanding. So is “From the Morning to the Night.” Portland Press Herald

GROUNDED - Dramatic Repertory Company - 2022

“Well known to local theatergoers, Turner’s signature smile becomes a little less comfortable on the face of a character on track for a breakdown… It is the emotionally intense performance of Casey Turner that is most deserving of the spotlight in this gripping production.” Portland Press Herald

“Turner veers between emotions with breathtaking speed, nuance, and humanity… Turner is utterly devastating, ferociously vulnerable, as she navigates The Pilot’s final catastrophe, climax, and catharsis” Portland Phoenix

SIGNIFICANT OTHER - Good Theater - 2022

“Casey Turner is warm, radiant, and giving as Laura, Jordan's closest friend, and their mutual affection and deep bond is so evident that their hysterical argument before Laura's wedding is truly wrenching.” Broadway World

THE FLICK - Dramatic Repertory Company - 2019

“Turner plays Rose cute and full of movement and pose. Her expressive face emotes all over and around her lines as her Rose attempts to stay on top of things. Fleeting glimpses of a childlike sadness anchor a vivid performance.” Portland Press Herald

HOMER BOUND - Good Theater - 2018

“Campbell and Turner are expressive actors who know how to work the laughs with thoroughly entertaining facial expressions and madcap antics that keep the play lively and the laughs coming.” Portland Press Herald

VENUS IN FUR - Dramatic Repertory Company - 2017

“Employing her pliant facial features and strong physical presence to maximum effect in both fast-paced comic onslaughts and sizzling, seductive interludes, Turner was a spellbinding presence throughout the performance.” Portland Press Herald

“Bearor and Turner are both virtuosic. Two skilled actors fully own both its broad strokes and subtleties.” Portland Phoenix

LONG DAY’S JOURNEY INTO NIGHT - Threshold Stage Company - 2017

“The play is saved from being bogged down in maudlin despair by the addition of Casey Turner, who turns in a bright and cheery Cathleen. Her breezy interjections are a welcome distraction from the morose travails of the Tyrones.” Caught in the Act, 2017

“Everything (including the flawless accent) about Turner's Cathleen, the play's single light character, is right; meticulously so. It's an honest portrayal; a light, albeit short breeze in the midst of a violent storm.” Foster’s Daily Democrat

MY NAME IS RACHEL CORRIE - Dramatic Repertory Company - 2014

“The preternaturally talented Casey Turner inhabits Rachel with warmth and disarming empathy in this one-woman portrait. Casey Turner is breathtaking bringing Rachel’s curiosity and vigor to luminous life, and gives an exquisite physical performance as she navigates vertiginous emotional terrain…” Portland Phoenix

“Powerful. A hard-hitting performance. Casey Turner is passionate, sobering, and awe-inspiring. She doesn’t miss a beat.” Portland Press Herald

DANCING AT LUGHNASA - The Originals - 2014

“It’s always a delight to watch Turner laugh, and when her Chris warms, despite herself, into mirth with inconstant Gerry, you can’t help warming with her.” Portland Phoenix

TIGERS BE STILL - Dramatic Repertory Company - 2011

“Turner, a young actress whose range and sensitivity continue to astound me, has remarkable nuance…she is funny, deft, and very affecting…and subtle Turner is exquisite when the cracks in Sherry’s chirpy facade finally open.” Portland Phoenix

“Turner was particularly touching in a nearly wordless scene.” Portland Press Herald

KILLER JOE - Space Gallery - 2011

“Particularly impressive is Turner, one of the most intuitive and versatile young actresses around, who invests her damaged Dottie with a haunting, truly horrible pathos.” Portland Phoenix
